Creativity Builds Confidence!

 Ann Raymond

Ann's teaching reputation has been earned over a long career in

the arts.  As a graduate of Pair College of Art, she majored in

Illustration and Commercial Art. After graduation she entered the

industrial world as a commercial artist. The position suited her

skills, but didn’t fully satisfy her need for creativity or her desire

to teach. Ann and her husband Bob have taught children in their

AHA (After Hours Art) programs in most of the elementary

schools in the area, including New Hartford, Barkhamsted,

Norfolk, Torrington, Morris, Warren, Winsted, Bethlemham,

Hartland, St. Peter/St. Francis School, and The Connecticut

Association of Gifted Children.

Ann is on the board of the New Hartford Art League. She has

also designed and obtained the copywrite for the New Hartford

Soccer t-shirt logo. The volume cover of the 1984 Bonsai of

Greater Hartford publication was Ann's, and her art was also

featured in other publications of the time. She has won several

art awards and has her work is in many private collections.

Robert Raymond

Bob studied under Master Sculptor Charles Reuchaud of Paris,

France and Wolfgang Behl of the University of Hartford. He has

done several portraits including French diplomat Paul Louis

Charles Claudel, author Ernest Hemingway, Raymond Kessler of

Kessler Construction Company, and Jonathan Stark. Bob has

been teaching adults and children for over 40 years. Recently

Bob taught a prerequisite course of Introduction to Portrait

Sculpture, Sculpture I, and Advanced Sculpture at the

Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted CT.

Presently, Mr. Raymond teaches sculpture at the Ann Raymond

Center for the Arts, and shows students how to shape pots on

the Center’s own pottery wheel.
